The issue of plastic waste management has become an urgent global environmental concern, including in Indonesia, the second-largest producer of plastic waste worldwide. Tlogosari Wetan, Semarang, faces a similar crisis with a high volume of plastic waste polluting the environment. GEMARI (Gerakan Masyarakat Mengumpulkan Sampah Plastik) is a local initiative aimed at reducing plastic waste through community participation. However, previous literature has primarily focused on technical and infrastructural aspects of waste management. This research addresses the gap in understanding the role of human resource management (HRM) in enhancing the effectiveness of community participation, providing new insights into community-based management. This study aims to understand the role of human resource management in the GEMARI program in Tlogosari Wetan, Semarang. Using a qualitative research method, data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results reveal that: 1) Workforce planning involves human resource management through collaboration between healthcare workers, community leaders, and residents engaged in waste collection; 2) Strategic planning, including active community participation in health and waste management programs, improves environmental cleanliness and access to free healthcare services; and 3) Recruitment is informal, driven by strong community awareness, supported by local government efforts that ensure program consistency and sustainability through ongoing socialization efforts.
Imam Abul KhairiRoro Nurhidayati

https://maddah.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/maddah/article/view/73

Dakwah professionalism is crucial amidst the global flow of information that critically examines religious teachings. Challenges arise from the increasing access of society to critical perspectives through social media, which can lead to the misinterpretation of Islam. With 60% of the population increasingly relying on online information sources, the potential for misinterpretation of Islam has significantly increased. As educators and moral guides, ustadz and ustadzah are not only responsible for teaching the Qur’an but also for shaping the character of their students to be strong both spiritually and morally. The aim of this research is to examine the professionalism of dakwah ustadz and ustadzah at TPQ Miftahul Ulum in responding to society's critical interpretive attitudes. The methodology used in this study is qualitative research. Dakwah professionalism at TPQ Miftahul Ulum is reflected through five main aspects: 1) the implementation of innovative methods that link religious lessons with daily life, 2) the utilization of technology, such as educational videos, to enhance the attractiveness of learning, 3) structured memorization that reinforces the understanding of the meaning of the verses, 4) formative and summative assessments that monitor the development of the students, and 5) reflection sessions and group discussions that support continuous understanding and improvement.
Novan Hariansyah

https://maddah.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/maddah/article/view/78

The background of this research lies in the challenges faced by rural communities, such as poverty, limited access to technology, and low economic literacy, which require holistic interventions encompassing economic, social, and spiritual aspects. Da'wah plays a crucial role in inspiring entrepreneurs to be more disciplined, creative, and innovative. This study aims to analyze the application of Adaptation and Innovation Theory in Da'wah for the development of the SME Center in Sumbermulyo Village by PT. Bumi Suksesindo (BSI). This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results indicate that the SME Center successfully implemented digital marketing strategies via Instagram, although the potential of other platforms like TikTok remains underutilized. Collaboration between the SME Center, the government, and other institutions has strengthened business sustainability. The integration of da'wah values proved effective in enhancing the capacity and market reach of local SMEs. Additionally, the SME Center played a vital role in creating social impacts, such as improving living standards and generating employment opportunities. Despite these achievements, challenges like limited resources and information access persist. These findings highlight the importance of leveraging digital technology and fostering strong collaboration among the private sector, communities, and the government to support SME sustainability.
Nurudin Mahmudin

https://maddah.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/maddah/article/view/40

Zakat has a strong legal foundation in Islam and holds the potential to serve as both a da'wah instrument and an effective generosity strategy in driving social change. However, in practice, zakat management still faces various challenges, such as low public awareness in fulfilling zakat obligations and inefficient distribution. This study aims to analyze the role of zakat as a da'wah instrument from an Islamic perspective and evaluate the implementation of zakat generosity strategies in promoting social change. The research employs a normative approach with a literature review methodology, encompassing conceptual analysis and empirical studies from various academic sources. The findings indicate that zakat has a significant impact on spiritual, social, and economic aspects. It enhances religious awareness, strengthens social solidarity, and serves as an instrument of economic justice. Additionally, zakat-based generosity strategies have proven effective in alleviating poverty and improving community welfare, especially when managed professionally with appropriate communication strategies. However, optimizing zakat as a tool for social transformation requires further innovation in management and collaboration with various stakeholders. Thus, zakat can become a more effective instrument in fostering sustainable societal well-being.
Rukmana Nada AliaFania Nazla NurhauraAryo Adi CahyoNovit NuraidinWafiq Alfi FarhaniFlora SalsabilaNur Rofiq

https://maddah.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/maddah/article/view/71

Child marriage in Central Java remains a serious issue with significant impacts on health, education, and community welfare. According to data from the Semarang Religious Court in 2020, there was a substantial increase of 45% in requests for marriage dispensations. Child marriage not only increases health risks for mothers and children but also leads to school dropout, economic hardship, and the perpetuation of poverty cycles. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of da'wah (Islamic outreach) in raising public awareness about the dangers of child marriage and the collaborative role of da'wah and the government in addressing this phenomenon. The research method employed a literature review, gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information from journal articles, books, research reports, and other reliable sources. The findings indicate that da'wah plays a strategic role in educating the public through continuous delivery of moral, religious, and social messages. Collaboration between da'wah and the government creates an effective synergy in transforming social norms, strengthening regulations, and increasing awareness of the importance of education and the negative impacts of child marriage. Therefore, a holistic approach involving both elements can serve as a sustainable solution to address child marriage in Central Java.
Efa YulianaPutrinala SalsabilaEvana Winny FadhilahDewi Rahmawati SetiyadanaNala Fauziah KhasanahNicean SeptianaNur Rofiq
